· And to promote thoughtfulness, personal growing and social skills, as long as initiatives in favour of natural environment and sustainable development.

We teach in excellence.

     Organization and services

To achieve this compromise and a continuous improvement, we count on our Quality Management System. This system is based on a test performed by in-house and external auditors for each course. It is validated by ISO 9001:2008 certification, which the School holds and has renewed successfully since 2008, showing the School’s firm and permanent determination through all these years to offer not only the best teaching to its students, but also the best facilities and services.

The School has a Departments’ structure to manage the different knowledge areas that set up the academic offer in tourism, communication and business areas. The Departments are as follows:

-          Social Sciences and Tourism Department

-          Business and Legal Sciences Department

-          Communication Sciences and Marketing Department

The Head of Department is responsible for them and the departments are made up by all the School’s teaching staff members. The tasks departments must carry out are: To continuously revise and coordinate the subjects’ syllabus of all the different degrees as well as the lines of research promoted by the School’s Research Committee. The departments are also responsible for validating the exams, monitoring and tutoring all the different final degree projects and, among other activities, promoting teachers and students in our School.

Regarding research, Formatic Barna School for Higher University Studies has a Tourism Analysis and Planning Research Group of its own, GREPAT, working, side by side, in different lines of research with other universities and institutions. These lines of research are carried out not only by GREPAT teachers but also by students being trained in research’s usages and procedures.

The School publishes regularly a series of the research works results as a product of the different ongoing lines of research. Its goals are to spread and transfer knowledge through:

-          Workshops and seminars.

-          Publications: magazines and books.

Formatic Barna School for Higher University Studies’ Academic Secretariat is responsible for managing and guarding all our students’ records. Some of its duties are:

-          To process and issue the different degrees’ diplomas.

-          To decide the appropriate validations on students demand.

-          To select and award scholarships to students.

-          To evaluate and manage these students’ scholarship requests.

Internships connect directly the students with the work market reality. Additionally, they may be useful to:

-          Offer a trustworthy view of the sector that will lead to wise professional decisions in the future.

-          Render initial professional experience and network.

-          Know the sector’s variety, diversity and complexity.

-          Contrast reality with one’s own ideas and the academic training options.

By singing new internships agreements our students are offered the possibility to get in the work market more easily.

Furthermore, the School provides specific services such as the Job Bank, job guidance and assistance as well as the possibility of extending the academic training with supplementary studies.

Formatic Barna School for Higher University Studies Alumni Association aims to keep the former students professional and social bonds with the School, reinforcing and strengthening community networking and the School-companies relations. The Alumni Association grows year by year and it permanently admits new members.
